Jonathan Miller leads financial and market strategy for North Branch Strategies. With over 20 years of experience in renewable energy markets, project valuation, and investment strategy, Mr. Miller brings a data-driven yet pragmatic approach to uncovering value while mitigating risk.

Principal & Strategy Advisor
Omay Elphick is the Principal and founder of North Branch Strategies and has over 25 years of leadership experience in renewable energy and public-private collaboration. A trusted executive and advisor, Mr. Elphick has built enduring partnerships to advance clean energy initiatives across municipalities, community organizations, and private developers.
Mr. Elphick is known for his collaborative approach of fostering relationships built on integrity and shared purpose. Whether testifying before legislators, facilitating community partnerships, or advising clients on market entry strategies, he brings a steady, pragmatic perspective grounded in both policy insight and business acumen.
Mr. Elphick originated, negotiated and executed over $220 million in long-term renewable energy contracts while pioneering innovative transaction models for distributed hydro and solar. His expertise bridges technical, policy, and market realms, with a particular focus on the Northeastern U.S. and New York State in particular.
He holds an M.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Colorado’s Leeds School of Business and a B.A. in Economics from Skidmore College.

Jonathan Miller leads financial and market strategy for North Branch Strategies. With over 20 years of experience in renewable energy markets, project valuation, and investment strategy, Mr. Miller brings a data-driven yet pragmatic approach to uncovering value while mitigating risk.
As Principal of Broadhead Energy Strategies and Senior Director of Markets at Gravity Renewables, Mr. Miller has executed dozens of value pathways across U.S. power markets: identifying new revenue opportunities, designing hedging strategies, and securing over $30 million in grants and incentives for hydroelectric modernization projects. His expertise spans ISO engagement, project finance, power marketing, and regulatory analysis.
Mr. Millers’ work is rooted in understanding how financial, policy, and operational factors intersect, and how to turn that insight into measurable outcomes for clients. He is particularly skilled at finding creative market-based solutions that unlock long-term value and resilience.
He holds two masters degrees in Business Administration and Environmental Studies (Energy Focus) from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
